And totally agree about non-registered counsellors/therapists. The term should be protected exclusively for those who've done approved training and are at least registered with a professional body with a code of ethics.

It's a gentle kind of victim blaming. Come on, depressed person. Pull yourself together, take responsibility and reach out.
I know it's not meant that way, but to someone who can't reach out because they're depressed, it must feel like they're being told it's their fault for not making the effort.

And the biggest tragedy of all?
UK Gov decided to stop reporting on #homeless deaths after 2021
It's almost as if they think homeless people don't matter.

Looking forward to @teamlabouruk.bsky.social recognising that the deaths of homeless people actually matter.

PS. I don't really mean "forget where people live" as clearly geography is linked to prevalence of social exclusion. But the impact of homelessness is FAR higher than where people live.
