On my way home from Richmond, Virginia, my Mounjaro appetite just loves this novel interpretation on the idea of a “chef’s salad” at the airside Sam Adams bar.

Reasoinably pleased with the outcome of last night’s North American Guild of Beer Writers Awards - three second place awards and one third place. Best thing was Tasting Notes being runner-up for best book, pipped by @jonnygarrett.bsky.social's excellent The Meaning of Beer!

Anyone else had your new favourite band dedicate their final song to you in front of a hometown sell-out crowd tonight? No? Just me? Ah well.

House of Guinness on Netflix. Fuck me. They should think about entering that into Best Audio or Video Beer Communication, sponsored by Fuller, Smith & Turner, at next year’s Guild of Beer Writers Awards. Would easily get highly commended.

Look: these fuckers are now actually trying to look like cyborgs from the shit sci-fi telly they watched when they were kids. That tells you all you need to know.

Tasting Notes comes to the Abergavenny Food Festival! Just a few tickets left for my show this Saturday. Price includes four fantastic Welsh beers. But will I find four classic Welsh tunes to pair with them? booking.bookinghound.cloud/fe/booking?o...

Five days. 260 miles driven. 40 pubs visited. 50 half-pints drunk and evaluated. It’s not easy. If it was, it wouldn't be work. The Lake District is a tricky place to get around, but I’ve now got my eight best pubs there and you can read about them in @thetimes.com on 5th October.

Coming up to two years after I moved to Norfolk, an old magazine found in an antique shop in Bungay articulates the question on everyone’s mind:

Say, who's that near the bottom, sandwiched between the UK Poster Association and the pop quiz? It’s only my @greenmanfest.bsky.social beer and music matching, which this year launches Tasting Notes, the book of the event! If you’re not at Green Man, check out petebrown.net for more events.

This has been one of the happiest days of my life. Today is the 5th consecutive day I have thought this. Norfolk: you’re alright.

I really appreciate it when a pub gives you such good advance warning.

Delighted to be representing beer in the top 25 most influential people in drinks, according to Drinks Retailing magazine! (Tiny niggle - if they doubted my “claim”, as journalists they could have, I dunno, gone and checked it?) Anyway - very chuffed indeed. I’m going to make myself a special hat.

We’re no strangers to pubs… look who I interviewed for @thetimes.com! Rick Astley’s life in beer, mainly with Mikkeller, running 8th June.
