Right? It's insane. The book has interesting details about his service. Ted groused about it and tried to avoid it but ultimately went and flew a bunch of actual combat missions. That would be like Judge getting called up to go to Iraq and fly helicopters. It's unimaginable and that's what Ted did.

"The Wingmen" by Adam Lazarus is an excellent account of Ted's time in Korea flying with John Glenn. It's amazing that Ted was an All-Star in '51 then flew combat missions in 52-53 before coming back to hit .345/.513/.635 in '54 at the age of 35.

He's have to be pretty dumb to say, "This is what we to do" in November without knowing what he can and can't do.

I'd agree.

Yep.

Yes. There wasn't room to list everybody.

Watching him last year, he's a really good player. Great internal clock, feel for the game, etc, But wonder if he's let that carry him this far without really committing to getting bigger, stronger, faster, etc.

Somebody in Bello's life — Cora, Bailey, Pedro, a teammate, a family member — should be asking him why he's not better than a No. 3.

It's to make money. Every team is in cahoots with gambling entities.

"It could help him hit the ball harder, more consistently. But I think, more than anything, it will just help him manage the workload of a full season and just be able to withstand the demands of a full season. Which is, frankly, something that he hasn't been able to do."

Was that the good Basabe or the bad one?

New England guys, really. Just keep lists, check in how they're doing, get to know the area scouts, etc,
