Having folks enjoy games is our glorious purpose. He/Him in the Mid-western United States.
Pro: FLGS, small publishers, great boardgames.
Con: shelving vertically, gatekeeping.
Haha. Nothing more infuriating than being beaten by someone who doesn't understand the game.

Sounds cool for folks who like to solo! Glad good games are coming out, even if they're not for me. ((Shrug))

I have heard rumblings of Vantage being good. I haven't even looked at it yet though. Co-op or solo aren't really my jam.

What have you enjoyed about it?

But I have multiple expansions, so I can swap out & still have 6. Overall I like the Ann. Ed. Better. Cleaned up some alien cards. Has a bonus alien. Has some suggested alien sets cards (helpful for new players). Also has tech cards (but I never play with them). Here's how I rank the exp.

The clear ships look cool but 2 colors (blue & purple) look a lot alike. Cosmic Incursion is a necessary exp as it adds the reward deck, (encourages players to defend more). You get Orange ships with it too. So I swap out those for blue or purple. Ann. Ed.

P.s. if you do play Cosmic, this is a one page guide that I made. I give a printed version as a player aid to every player when I play.

I also have a printout of the quantity of all the cards but mine includes a few expansions, so it wouldn't be helpful for you.

Cosmic Encounter is my favorite game. If that convinces you at all.

CoB looks dry and sounds dry but it is fun (even when the dice don't agree with you). Have you played other Feld's? He definitely makes games that have a distinct feel.

Top of my gap list is Root but also classics like Mahjong.

Ha yeah. I kind of just play when I get a chance. Not much of a planner. There's usually enough folks to get a random game started on there.

Oh nice. I love Space Base. I've literally logged more than 1,000 games of it on BGA. So good!

Cthulhu: DMD is on my list to check out sometime! So many good games

Funny how that happens! Catan got old after a while but I still love Carcassonne.

What have you been enjoying lately?

Congrats! Didn't realize this found a publisher. Looks great! 👍

I'm usually about 3 years behind and haven't played any 2025 games yet. So I'm interested to hear what folks say. Moon Colony Bloodbath looks fun but might be a bit lucky for my taste (but I've been wrong before!)

Love this game. Tear down is a huge pain, but definitely a fun, lucky engine builder.

Ha. That works too. Have fun!

I know there are meetups in my area for it too. Ideally I'd want it to be my group or at least a group that isn't 30+ years older than me.
