Having folks enjoy games is our glorious purpose. He/Him in the Mid-western United States.
Pro: FLGS, small publishers, great boardgames.
Con: shelving vertically, gatekeeping.
As boardgame night host, I do win a heavy % of games. I own them, played them more (or at least read & digested the rules), they're my taste in games. It makes sense.

Do others win a fair % of their game nights they host too?

P.s. I'm TERRIBLE at some. I am 7 games in & have yet to win Robo Rally.

But I have multiple expansions, so I can swap out & still have 6. Overall I like the Ann. Ed. Better. Cleaned up some alien cards. Has a bonus alien. Has some suggested alien sets cards (helpful for new players). Also has tech cards (but I never play with them). Here's how I rank the exp.

Well, well, well. If it isn't my old friend PitchCar. How I missed u on boardgame night. An extremely tough track. I underestimated the speed needed to get through the loop, resulting in everyone wildly going off the table. Also got to use my 3D-printed bump rails. Highly recommend!

Just a quick appreciation post. I have some amazing friends that I boardgame with. 225 hours of fun over the last 2 years and the thing I look forward to every single week.

Surprised to see 6 Nimmt (Take 5) get overtaken by other games but Captain Flip and Star Realms are pretty legit!

Spooky boardgame plays for October. Finally got Scoville & Modern Art to the table for the first time. Loved them both.

Just happy to be safe & have such great friends. Despite a huge incident in which we now have to move out of the neighborhood for our safety, game night only missed 1 week.

I mean there are a few boardgames that this is the attitude you need to go in with...

🎲 Robinson Crusoe
🎲 In the Year of the Dragon
🎲 Antiquity
🎲 Age of Steam
🎲 Anything by Splotter

Am I missing any?

Boardgames has ruined me from seeing this CSS for background (bg) as anything other than boardgames.

Little sadder for my boardgame spirit than having to take down my kallaxes. Hopefully we can find a new place to live soon.

My September boardgame plays! Went heavy on Cascadia this last month & ran 2 tables of it for a few weeks. What a great game. Also got to teach another member of my group Star Realms and they immediately bought it. Can't wait to play again.

I've always enjoyed the new Carcassonne box cover till I realized it's not a legal placement! Yes, the tile could be placed there but the road is already occupied by at least one other person, so the meeples can't be placed there...

Are you seeing Spots!? You should be. This fun dice rolling, push-your-luck boardgame is filled with charming (John Bond) art of spotted dogs. Dogs have spots, dice have spots. I never understood why this game didn't take off more. Seems perfect for the dept store game aisle.

Why in the world is the boardgame Lords of Vegas so expensive? $75 is ridiculous. I think Roll for the Galaxy is a comparable game but $60: lots of dice, cardboard tiles. RftG even has custom dice.

Is it the custom wooden car tokens? Cause I'd love a cheaper version with cardboard.

I've always felt that the greatest failing in my life was not acquiring a nemesis. I guess I'll have to settle for a boardgame nemesis. I'm coming for you Dave.

This looks like a great setup for lighting above your boardgame table. Any tips on how this was built @3mbg.bsky.social ? What lights were used?

A good month of boardgames! Got some classics back to the table. Sentient and Chinatown had to be dusted off it's been so long. Got my butt kicked this month (33% win rate) with 1 player going on a tear w/ an impressive 62% win rate this month. We're screening him for boardgames enhancing dr*gs. 😂

Now for my routine clean up of my boardgame space that my kids trash each and every week. But hey boardgames tonight!

My disdain for shared victories in boardgames is unmatched.

I've pulled the pin and am holding the game h*stage until we have a winner.

I always tell myself, "oh theme isn't that important" and then I see a reprint of a boardgame that I wanted to buy but now I kind of don't because of how it was rethemed...

Maybe I don't like the coral cutout pieces on a grid board...

This makes my skin crawl not having the boardgames in their actual boxes...

Also referring to a stack of boardgames as a "junk pile"...

Probably the greatest boardgame tweet of all time. There is no hurt quite like it.

Small box boardgames don't get the love they deserve. Deep Sea Adventure is a beautiful, push-your-luck game that is as fun as it's charming. W/ wooden dice, diver meeples & cardboard chits, submarine, you can be lured into thinking this will be relaxing, until your air runs out.
