I can understand that Cool Ship is not the current cover meta, but they could've put a flaming butterfly on it or something. Mathematical notation. A bunch of dogs. Anything!!

The pulp covers (and i do read a lot from that era!) honestly were very bad on aesthetic merits usually, but they got a lot of creative flexibility! Everything here is so over-polished

I am sure some of the books are fine, and the art is too, but on a collective aesthetic level this just gives the impression of slop made for and by humans. Humanslop.
