Welcome to Canberra, #ASCS2025 folk!

Although the only thing Canberra about this photo is the location and the BentSpoke coaster.

This is the kind of attention to detail in game design that I am 100% here for. (From _Blade Runner the Roleplaying Game Core Rules_ (Fria Ligan, 2022), p.215).

I made a bacon and mushroom (tomato base) and a potato and rosemary (marmite base) yesterday. Last dough is a fig, goat cheese and walnut (marmalade syrup base).

Only two more things to add to this thread. One is this image. This isn't something I'm actively working on, but I did have some promising ideas recently.

The long weekend hit, so I've been taking some much needed R&R, including watching the test match and painting figures for an upcoming AdlG comp. (Not an impressive pic, but 15mm WiP shots seldom are). I expect to resume the thread tomorrow.

Mt Argaeus was one such important cultural symbol for the city of Caesarea in Cappadocia (modern Kayseri). This particular paper was something of a return to my roots as an MA student at UC where I wrote my thesis on Roman imperialism in Cilicia, Cappadocia’s southern and seaside neighbour.

The representation I started with was this drachm of Septimius Severus from the VUW Classics Museum. Here's a link to the museum (www.wgtn.ac.nz/slc/about/ou...) that includes a link to our online catalogue. This coin isn't in the online catalogue yet, but it will be soon.

Today's topic is the one I finished just before my AIMS presentation. This was a paper for the recent Royal Numismatic Society of New Zealand’s triennial meeting in which I looked at representations of Mt Argaeus (mod. Erciyes Dağı in Turkey) on coins from Roman Cappadocia.

I started playing Tactical Breach Wizards last night and it definitely lives up to my high expectations so far: great concept, beautiful aesthetic, non-random tactical puzzle solving, regular defenestrations, fun characters and witty dialogue.
