It enrages me that people refuse to see this. Half the country voted for a walking revenge fantasy & aspiring Hitler from the outer boroughs who openly plans military tribunals for his opponents Because they love his proud sadism and cruelty. It's a purer strain of a drug they already crave.
Trump voters will pay $29.99 for a $2 bill with his face on it, but this election was about the “price of eggs.”

Trump is preternaturally vengeful, capricious, and even dumber than before, it's fair to wonder if he is even thinking in terms of a larger plan. The latter is especially likely given that Trump is a known quantity and the US will suffer more if the others answer in kind.
It’s a battle of political leverage. Who can use tariffs, retaliatory tariffs or sanctions to create more political pain for the other leader. Forcing them to capitulate or face undesired consequences.

From your standpoint as a businessman and manufacturer, is there any sense behind this? Especially now that other countries are threatening tariffs of their own in retaliation. But that doesn't make sense cause it would mean raising their own taxes.

Pure conjecture: He may be taking notes on the reactions and facial expressions of everyone, generals and all. The Emperor Domitian, who was famously, paranoid, cruel, and murderous did the same as he watched the treason trials he ordered and even when he ordered executions. It seems plausible.

I disagree. He's putting together power ministries that will do whatever he wants.
I think Trump is tired and doesn't really care about most agencies. He is putting up the last person he saw on TV for positions.
