Mt Fuji at 285km per hour captured on Fujifilm 400 on a Pentax MX with a Tamron SP Super Performance 35-80 zoom in 1980. This film along with a dozen others was processed and arrived with some very very average prints. Recently rescanned Neg Lab pro for the conversion then denoised in DXO photo lab

Noticed on Ali Express ‘Vibe colour film’ It says 27 exposures ISO to 800 AUD 15.91 Per roll cheaper for 5 etc Any guesses what it is, any one tried it? Ali has a shifty pricing database so
it may be different for others!

When all’s said & done a 10x8 or larger print be it darkroom or inkjet is my preferred size to view. As much I love, say, a silver gelatine print, medium to high end ink jets have greater depth in the blacks. What’s more really good printers are not that expensive now. Cheaper than a darkroom…
I always found D76 too grainy in an unpleasing “newspaper print” kind of way.
I like LC29 and it used to be my go to, but I have throughly enjoyed D23r which I find I don’t get the same problems as I do with D76

A dragon kiln, the last one in Singapore produced 1000’s of plant pots with each firing. Managing one of these beasts was in itself a real art and a fascinating thing to see. Fuji film on a Pentax SV or MX

An Echidna close up these are normally quite shy secretive creatures this one popped out of the bush and scrambled up on this rock giving me a rare opportunity to catch a portrait

Unloading a kiln at Royal Crown Derby. This film is going to get a bath any larger than this and it looks like it’s been sand blasted. Taken in the late 80’s Pentax

My B in L once said once said “one gets joy from buying a boat & once again when it is disposed of” I can’t imagine the same could be said for the owner of this one!
A phone photo of a print that has hung in my hallway for some time, it's from a large format negative printed on Hahnemuhle Photo Pearl paper.

Yes the Pentax 645 has the best affordable interchangeable glass available especially when one considers that all the 6x7 glass can be used as well. I sold mine & some of the lenses intending to buy a Rollei wide 1st series which I still have to find! Saw & handled a GX wide in JPN but very pricey🫣
Using some GP3 in 220 today while taking the P645 out, it's quite a manageable camera with a prime, but this zoom takes it to another level in size.

Curves then desaturate+contrast in Affinity but the fact was the day was gray totally flat sky there was almost no colour to convert. Pentax/Tamron or the wish I never sold it pancake!

I only saw the slightest glimpse of metal when the hand was moved but the Retina shutter had been pressed at that point captured on HPS a while ago. Do the scales tell the story, I’ll never know!

Bill, do you notice any significant difference between 16x9 and what the anamorphic lens produces?

I was about to quit for the night & power failed with an explosion!
I looked out of the window to see a fire was burning on the vacant land close by it has been very gusty the whole week with terrible fires a long the east coast of Tasmania. In this case a gust had cause lines to arc & start a fire
