Not a big fan of Governor Newsom, but this speech is 🔥🔥
This is a superb speech by @governor.ca.gov just now.

Clear. Strong. Simple. Direct. Angry—in a way that appeals to the best in people, not the worst. Seven plus minutes of the most effective rhetoric in response to Trump.

This is how you want a leader to talk.

Reading Obama’s tribute to Pope Francis is a stark reminder of how far presidential dignity has fallen. Where there was once eloquence, compassion, and moral clarity, we now endure a swaggering caricature—petty, reckless, and painfully unworthy of the office.

In economics, as in geopolitics, Trump fundamentally misunderstands the limits of American power. It is at the centre of everything he does. The markets, the only real impediment to him now, may be about to teach him how wrong he is.

New writing from me.

Again and again, Trump misunderstands the limits of American power.
And as a result is taking us to a global financial precipice.

Together with our allies, we defeated the Soviet Union - an empire so evil it had to build gulags and walls to keep its own people in. Destroying America’s alliances and abandoning the cause of freedom is morally and strategically indefensible.

This is effect of Trump policy. Hope that GOP at least can acknowledge the fact that Russia is the agressor in this war, and that Ukraine has the right to defend themselves.
If Putin says that he wants peace, this is not what peace looks like. Wake up you GOP sleepwalkers!
Last night, Russia launched yet another massive attack on Ukraine, targeting residential buildings, civilian, energy and gas infrastructure of #Ukraine.

Explosions were heard in Kharkiv, Ternopil, Odesa, Ivano-Frankivsk, Sumy, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv and Khmelnytskyi regions.

Freeland: "If these tariffs are put in place, it is going to hurt Americans ... your grocery prices are gonna go up, bc you know what you need to grow food in the US? You need fertilizer. 80% of it comes from Canada and you're gonna be a 25% tax on it? ... the WSJ is right. This is dumb."
