Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.

Hardly new info, but BSky should know:

Warsaw's water quality is monitored by eight clams with magnets attached to their shells. If contamination in the water causes the clams to close, the magnets trigger an alarm and shut off the city's water supply.
Thank you, little guardian molluscs.

In a nutshell yes. Precisely.
When someone publishes something they know is false, that's disinformation.

When they don't know it's false, that's misinformation.

When they don't want to do their homework before posting because they want it to be true, that's bias.

Calling out any of those wrongs, is NOT bias.

A study of 2.9 million rivers worldwide reveals large shifts in global river flow patterns over the past 30 years. The results emphasize the critical yet changing role of upstream rivers in flood dynamics and the far-reaching consequences for both natural and human systems.
More flow upstream and less flow downstream: The changing form and function of global rivers
We mapped daily streamflow from 1984 to 2018 in approximately 2.9 million rivers to assess recent changes to global river systems. We found that river outlets were dominated by significant decreases in flow, whereas headwaters were 1.7 times more likely...

Astonishingly, it barely made a ripple in the world's media.
