I did not have “wandering around stores at 8pm Sunday night trying to find a baby onesie or a small pet costume”, and yet... 🤔 Superstore had some decent human options and HomeSense yielded this gem! (Harmony had surgery and a onesie seems more compatible with eating and drinking than a cone…) #cats

Remaining grateful that I am short enough to stand up in airplane seats without having to hunch over.

NOT grateful for the current state of the US airline network, which means a Vermont -> YEG trip has thus far involved landing in South Dakota, a night in Denver, and seeing the Grand Canyon. 😫

Rose update: both are thriving, though neither are as true orange or as strongly scented as I’d hoped. The Olds College rose has a particularly bad powdery mildew at the moment due to a cool damp July, but it should recover.
An “Olds College” rose bush, planted in wood mulch. Three large orangey-pink blooms are fully open and angled towards the camera, while three other blooms face away towards the back of the bush. A powdery white coating is visible on several of the leaves. A “Morden Sunrise” rose bush planted in wood mulch. The bush is still quite small but has over half a dozen flowers blooming on it, all yellow with some orange edges.

What rose breeds did you go with? I also uprooted some random juniper shrubs and replaced them with hardy roses (Olds College and Morden Sunrise), but sadly mine are not heavily scented. (This just means I need to plant a third bush and make sure it DOES have a strong scent!)

if you haven’t tried Habesha Cravings yet it’s some of the best Ethiopian food i’ve had in Edmonton, and they have a lovely outdoor patio (and a parking lot). Order the bozena shiro!

My teeny Olds College rose has a single bud already and it’s juuust starting to open! Can’t wait to see what the colour will look like once it’s fully open!

There is no sinner as unrepentant as a cat at 4am who has just barfed ALL over the cat bed, quilt, and pillow case that were JUST freshly washed and replaced <12 hours ago. 😖 #cats

Took a week off work because parents visiting from Ontario. I think they had a good time, but boy, I think I need another week off to actually relax. 😓 On top of that poor Pansy’s eye is haemorrhaging and I had to schedule an ophthalmic vet appointment. Who even knew that was a thing? Not me!
