I have a new (old) treasure! This Singer sewing machine is a Model 27 from 1896. It’s in fantastic shape, and even still has most of the attachments!

Hestia has stolen a Taco Bell wrapper out of the trash. She crept by me with it, slowly and quietly, climbed onto the couch, hid it under her paws and watched me for a minute before starting to tear it up, quietly and slowly.

Ok for the sake of indulging my longing for a machine I do not need … what would I want to look for in a treadle Singer to make sure it would be functional?

You can file “elk” under “Frequently Underestimated Wildlife” too. It’s rutting season here in the Rockies, and the number of people who will get out of their cars and approach a 1,000 pound bull elk with 5’ long antlers …

I went apple and pears picking w my weavers guild and we filled the whole guild refrigerator. My forager heart is singing “WE HAVE SUCH RICHES, WE SHALL SURVIVE THE WINTER” despite knowing these are for a jelly making fundraiser.
