Retreating from heightened judicial scrutiny for gender-based discrimination to mere rationality when the context is medical care would retroactively rationalize Dobbs and have devastating implications going forward

The horrifying implications of today’s Supreme Court argument on trans rights
The Court appears likely to uphold bans on gender-affirming care, and may gut the rules barring all forms of sex discrimination in the process.

Trump's Energy Secretary pick, oil executive Chris Wright, has cited scientific research to contend that the world does not actually face a climate crisis.

There’s just one problem: The authors of those studies say Wright is misrepresenting their findings. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...
Trump energy pick misinterprets studies to support claims, scientists say
As energy secretary, oil executive Chris Wright would be in a key position to carry out Trump’s vision for rolling back clean energy subsidies.

As we head towards January, it is our turn to use this period productively. Hoping that Trump fails is not a plan. We must develop and foster new movements, structures, tactics, platforms and leaders to oppose Trump and articulate a positive vision. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/buil...

I understand Donald Trump for what he is a buffoon. Donald Trump wants you to be scared. Rather than being scared, I am proud to be a happy warrior for democracy. We all need to have the courage to not back down. Do not obey!

Who were the 15?
Well 15 Democrats just voted to help Trump destroy those "advocacy institutions" by making it easier to label them "terrorist organizations."

“The main question I was looking to answer when I started reading Hegseth’s collected works was whether he would follow a Trump command to shoot peaceful protesters. After having read them, I don’t think he would even wait for the order.”

Donald Trump’s Most Dangerous Cabinet Pick
Pete Hegseth considers himself to be at war with basically everybody to Trump’s left, and it is by no means clear that he means war metaphorically.

Like others, I fear the threat of government retribution, political vengeance and an angry right-wing mob. But I know that giving into it will only strengthen Trump and undermine the future of our democracy. Trump wants us to be scared. He wants us to give up — gradually and then suddenly.

Former Florida AG Pam Bondi received a $25,000 donation from the Donald J. Trump Foundation and four days later, she announced that the state of Florida wouldn’t pursue a legal case about Trump University.

And that’s who Trump wants for our AG now. Fucking delightful.
