Welcome our new baby, Kermit. After the trauma that was Dash’s swift and fatal illness, we found that as sibling of his had just had puppies. Kermit is Dash’s nephew. Grief takes its own path. Don’t judge. He is a cutie. Personality is still cooking. I’ll get back to you on that.

How is this the purview of the federal government?? Let’s legislate every crybaby white girl who feels butthurt. JFC.

Two days ago I had to say goodbye to the dog in my profile pic. He was genuinely the nicest dog that ever existed, and I have had a lot of dogs. Rest in sweetness my little baby, Dash.

The most recent addition to our little family is Felix. He is that rarest of breeds, the dog-cat. He doesn’t mind being picked up. He never bites or scratches. He is best frenemies with the bird. He gets along with everyone although Julia still doesn’t trust him.

Our third senior rescue was Coconut. She was our sweet little cyclops. She came to us at the age of 13, and made it just past 16 before I made the gutting decision to send her on her way before something painful and scary befell her. This was recent. It is still much too difficult.

Yikes, I skipped Freddie. I’m awful. We got Freddie when he was 3 and now he’s like… 20? He is a lovely talkative fellow, not a screamer. We try not to swear around him. He knows how to talk to the echo dot. Rumor Has It by Adele is his favorite song to dance to.

Our second senior adoption was Miss Tessa Rose. Her daddy surrendered her because he is 90 and was worried about falling when walking her. He is a lovely man and we bonded over his dog. Tessa was not very cuddly, but she was a proper lady and I hope she enjoyed her finale.

We got Oscar in October of 2020. I was still in a cloud of grief from Peanut and I just needed him. The physical similarities are astounding. The personality? Not so much. Oscar is his own man. Resident Dennis the Menace. Acts like he’s going to chomp you, but is actually very gentle.

At the very beginning of the pandemic we adopted our first senior rescue, Lily. She was surrendered because she needed all her teeth removed and they couldn’t pay for it. When I say no one other than my mom has ever loved me as much as this tiny dog… adopt seniors. They are a motherfucking gift.

Dash is my photogenic little king. He is the gentlest boy. He should be a therapy dog if we were more organized. This is our cuddle bug. He is a very very good boy.

Our little Julia, our first girl, was from an adoption event across the parking lot from the bowling alley. She was an impulse buy. She’s shy, and submissive, but she will boss the boys around. She was born one year and one month after Sidney died and sometimes I feel like he’s in there somewhere.

Bean was our biggest mistake. When Piglet was getting very old, we adopted this little doppelgänger. He was, however, the anti-Piglet. Really he was just so insanely dominant that he was too much for our pack. After 2 years, and multiple hospital visits (for us) we brought him back. Sorry Bean.

Peanut. This dog loved everyone. If you took him for a walk he sought out strangers to get pets from them. He would have befriended squirrels and birds if they’d let him. He was the ultimate “wing dog”. He was our ♥️.

This is Sidney. We got him right after the sad demise of the legendary Sidney Frank. Sidney was, is, and always shall be, my canine life partner. When he barked, his front feet would bounce off the ground. He behaved like a puppy right up until the day before he died.
