I just have to hijack this thread. This house: Jan 2023, Asking price: $4,498,000, Taxes: $3,600 (2022).
I live ½ way between TO and Ottawa, and I’m paying about $3K prop taxes on a $400K home. WTF!!!!!

Calling all Geneticists! Could you please discover the DNA sequence that determines “instinct”? Unlike animals, humans have very few instinctive behaviours.
If we could come up with a T cell/RNA treatment, maybe we could remake humans to be better.

It’s going into an investment account! How much of his “donation” will end up being invested back into Dell?
Breaking News: Michael and Susan Dell said they would put $250 in individual investment accounts for 25 million American children, expanding the reach of soon-to-be-created "Trump accounts."

So, no more “God bless you” after a sneeze, “thank God,” or JFC!!” To who do I report transgressions?
Update: Quebec's sweeping new secularism bill targets public prayer, but Christmas parties are OK
Institutions such as hospitals and daycares would not be permitted to offer an "exclusively" religious menu to clients.

Why can’t humans be more like these American Oil beetles? His buddy gets hurts, so he helps out by piggybacking him across the road. We should learn a bit of humanity from these little creatures.

If Musk has the power to add location transparency to accounts, he has the power to suspend accounts that make fake claims as to where they are located, then make the accounts justify why they’re doing it.
X's new location transparency feature shows that a slew of MAGA-branded accounts are apparently based outside the U.S., and also stirred speculative outrage over where the Department of Homeland Security account was created.

I just finished 20,000 Leagues, a re-read with my old man brain. Vernes’ fills a half a book with zoölogical names, rarity and descriptions of countless submarine creatures, all the while not giving a sh:t about those same creatures while killing them. “Oh look, a dugong.” BANG!

🇨🇦 ALBERTA'S PIPELINE HOPE HITS A 50-YEAR WALL 🇨🇦

Premier Danielle Smith wants a path to the ocean for Alberta crude, but the Oil Tanker Moratorium Act stands firm.

It is a conflict decades in the making, and the coast isn't blinking.

The only thing that hasn’t changed is the number of employees, and the delivery schedule. The same # of people delivering half the mail! I heard postal workers are guaranteed employment.
You know, I think I could live with getting mail once or twice a week, if some of that money was redirected to healthcare and education.

But if it goes towards Doug’s Skills Development petty cash box or Danielle’s pipelines in all directions, I’m out.

Well, it looks like the Roughriders were the ones to pluck the Alouettes.
All those years of singing "Alouette, gentille alouette.
Alouette, je te plumerai" as a kid in elementary school French class and I here always thought I was singing about the football team.

So, if the CPCs let up on their push to the far right to save the party (and PP), they will lose the PPC votes the RW push inherited, and then the next election will end in a Liberal supermajority. The CPC are between a rock and a hard place, and NDP and Green are nowhere near ready for an election.

No it is not a game and we need the opposition to do what is right for Canadians and Canada.
It is time for all Canadians to start looking at the big long term picture instead of going for short term political stunts.
Canada has been complacent and half assing for to long.
