In addition, I personally experienced this when IBM changed their pension policy back in the 90s - promises broken to loyal employees. Don’t get me wrong, it is an ugly abomination of a bill in any case.

She’s 53 and a technical expert, hardly elderly or needy. Far more needy people are impacted by this awful bill, let’s focus on them. There are much much bigger problems with this legislation. This article is more likely to get supporters for the policy change than sympathy for those affected IMO.

@mrosas.bsky.social may have some input on this one. She built an expert support team using primarily entry-level folks at at Looker. It’s all about empathy and intelligence, and being given time to provide the help needed. And having fun doing it.
