We do not have to love the whole of the person, but we have to respond with love to that part of them, and that can involve expecting better of them and preventing them from doing worse.

To me the more important (& more distinctive) thing is not that there is that of God in everyone, but that it is that part of them that we respond to.

If you want to share a grudge with your team fine, grab a post-it, send an email. But personally that feels like it's watering it down - and if they can't pick up on the grudgementalness without it being written then you clearly aren't seething enough to justify getting out the tome.

That's the weirdest bit of this for me - surely any grudge strong enough to merit recording in a leather-bound tome is so keenly felt that it doesn't need it? Like, if you need to jot it down you just aren't grudging hard enough.

I mean.. He seems not to have grasped that 'third world' countries still have the infrastructure to connect to international banking systems. Drop a billionaire in there and they remain a billionaire. If they've dropped to millionaire status within a year that's on them. (and is an improvement)

The guy who gives more presents to rich kids than poor ones, thereby entrenching a repressive social order? That guy? Absolutely!

Specifically that video? Or would toads eating mealworm work just as well?

Tsk - do people really not know it's how you describe a famous Argentine short-story writer as mean-spirited?
