Dear Ms Haynes,
I happened upon your History Hit programme Medusa the Real History. I was deeply impressed by your understanding of the sorrow at the heart of this story.
Thank you for telling it so well.

The FIFA trophy looks like the scene in Zombie movies when clutching hands pop up out of the ground in a mist-covered cemetery.

I know everyone with a stake in history objects to the term 'dark ages', but really, seriously, centuries passed before anyone in Europe could again paint like that.

Makes it easier for the guy who's going to fill in the toe tag...

I thought this pictured was intended as evidence in a lawsuit against an aged care facility.

I'm old enough to know that those shorts sometimes work.

Denunciation by 'industry' is a tick in the right box.

It's a start...

Please allow me to accompany you to the Mount of Disdainful Rectitude.

That's not impromptu — I reckon he's been practising.

You are respected and admired, even in Melbourne.

I'm sorry, I just don't buy that. Swords were objects of veneration, not just grave-goods. To break one like that must have been a very emotional, ceremonial act.
Not that I have a shred of evidence...

I long for a glimpse into the deeds, emotions, people & speeches leading to this burial.
Such a precious heirloom denied to its heirs. What happened? Was it a denunciation? Was it like a famous footballer's Jersey number being 'retired'? Is it a dream that the sword will be reforged (as JRRT wrote)?

This picture is that line of Keats'
"Beauty is truth, truth beauty"
perfectly personified.

"Inadvertently" does not mean accidentally.
It means unavoidably.
"Inadvertently" my arse as well as yours.

Did Hegsdeth copy those names of a condom-vending machine?

One of the reasons I don't bother to watch men's cricket any more.
The main reason is that the women play the game the way the men used to, before they got drunk on their own testosterone.
