Pearl for today: The Holy Spirit lives in the physical bodies of the Lord's people. Accordingly, we should strive to treat our bodies as holy places.

Another pearl for today: Unrepentant, hypocritical, sinful behavior by someone who claims to be a believer should not be tolerated among the Lord's people.
The Lord's people today have the Gospel to understand what Jesus communicated to His disciples. However, we can still misunderstand what He communicates to us, particularly when it does not fit our expectations and biases. We need help from the Holy Spirit to open our eyes.

Another pearl for today: God calls some of His people earlier in life than others to partake of His grace. Wether a life-long believer or a new one, we are all rewarded with eternal life.

Another pearl for today: The Lord's people are part of His eternal kingdom. The King is the Son of God who came in the flesh (as we celebrate on Christmas) in order to be our Savior. He rules in our hearts now, and will also rule forever.

Another pearl for today: God's promises to His people are sure and steadfast. He fulfills His word in His timing and way, as seen in the fulfillment of the Davidic Covenant through Solomon and ultimately through Jesus Christ.

Rather than striving for worldly greatness, the Lord's people simply trust in Jesus and serve Him by serving others. We are to: use any power, influence, or resources to serve others; have humility and meekness; and value loving, the way He loved us, more than earthly things.

Pearl for today: The Lord's people know that it is impossible for human beings to do anything that is good enough to secure their eternal life with God in heaven. Only God Himself can (and has) made this possible.

Pearl for today: The Lord's people understand that He wants us to serve Him His way, not ours. "Serving" Him in ways that ignore His specific instructions does not please Him.
