But you yourself, I haven’t seen a sober man before Return in such a crude, disheveled state So late.” Mr Umpleby approaches her. Mrs Lofthouse inspects his neck. Mrs Lofthouse “What is that mark upon your skin?” Mr Umpleby (taking off his hat to reveal the cap) “I met Sykes at an inn (To keep the favour).” Mrs Lofthouse (impertinantly) “How long must one traverse Those wide and winding roads To come to eating footmens’ toads?” A pause. “How was it on the tongue?” Mr Umpleby “Pleasant enough, he’s young. Anyways I'm mostly on tumblr but here's so funart of my friend's ocs:
Eleonore is sat on hair, as she is comforted by her 3 ladies-in-waiting. The scene takes places in a dark room (persumably her bed chamber). A french-style garden basking in warm afternoon light. A young man dressed in 18th century attire (and of slightly round proportions) is walking along one of its paths. His his experssion seem tense: Perhaps he is deep in thought? Regardless, I think it would be best not to vex him. In the background, an faint outline of a palace can be seen. A sketch book page with a drawing of a tan, dark-haired woman. She is dressed in yellow a 1730s style gown and has a blue fur-trimmed cape loosely draped over her shoulders. The empty page-space if filled with little stylised leaves and lilies. In the corner of the page there's text saying "Eleonore (sorry for your husband being gay)"

Ok, so I've named my Yorkshire backwater at last! It's called Houndsbrow Hall. It sits atop Sorrel Hill and overlooks the Red Beck (brook). I ended up using "Don in Yon Forest" as inspo. Thanks @cassandrahase.bsky.social!

Probably, I find hiding easter eggs for myself really motivating for some reason. Though, family/friend inside jokes never find their way into my work (when I'm writing in English at least). Otherwise, anything goes tbh

A fragment from a play, which reads as follows: Mrs Lofthouse turns red. Sukey watches her carefully. Mrs Lofthouse: “O you should think it strange, But whilst I took my rest I fell asleep And woken by the light that seeped Through sprawling branches of an ancient fig, I found myself reclining in a bed of twigs. The air was still but for the chirping of the lark And soured by a pungent dread. I soon sensed on my side a mark Which festered and which bled. And all in vain, I cried in pain Onto the hills and dales For every sound the sky’d rebound And send to me again. So I did waste in my despair Two hours and half Scarcely aware that my poor tree, whose verdant bower shielded me grew on some vagrant’s path. Yes! Apathy is a bit of a theme in general. However, the second Mrs Umpleby (Sukey) grew up in a hostile home enviorment where she was often forced either to silently observe, or cooerced into directly participating in abuse for fear of reprocussions; she feels totally helpless in the face of evil.

Everything you will write for the first time will suck ass. It's kinda tough but it's a truth that would have helped child me to manage his expectations.
That doesn't mean it will keep being ass, but you have to keep working on it and it will turn out to be great!
