The very best part of hiking with my family this weekend is that my 16 yr old, who has started school this month in a new country, the only American, was completely himself. I’ve missed him. He’s been pulling away but out hiking he’s still my sweet boy.

Oh the news is bleak today. I have no words of wisdom to offer but I can share a picture of Ziggy, the softest cat I have ever stroked. He is also a gentle giant who has decided to hide his eyes from the news this weekend.

Sent two of my kids off to school this morning for the first time in the UK and the first time in two years to do school away from home. I am looking forward to having them home in the next hour and hearing how it went. Nervous but hopeful. I missed them!

When it is 3 am and you’ve been trapped in the shower stall for 15 minutes by a spider of indescribable eldritch horror and you finally have to call for help it is good to be married to a man who finds it amusing rather than being angry. He saved me. He’s been my best friend and hero for 26 years.

Well the government has finally managed to get the Epstein Files out of the news. All it took was a military take over of DC and whatever the hell it is that just took place in Alaska.

Watching how easily the rule of law is dismissed and democracy is dismantled is frightening. It really looks like D.C. is about to become an occupied city and I am frightened for the people especially the vulnerable. Will this finally distract from the Epstein files? Idk.

It’s 1:20am am I am getting to bed after drinking the quantity of wine only consumed when getting together with a friend I’ve known and loved since I was 7 years old on a golden summer night. Sweet dreams all. ❤️

You know how some people really love a book or show and so they dress up and get together and have fun pretending it’s real? That’s cool, but there are all these people cos playing the Bible so hard they think it’s real and are ruining everything for everybody!
