Guessing that can be frustrating, a bit of squeaky wheel; how much time spent spent on that vs. adding value to the "happy path' (regardless of paid time or not, but that certainly plays a part). But given your posts, seems like ya'll have managed to stay pretty targeted on the latter.

I think that's pretty true for any tooling; one of the initial hurdles is "thinking in x" so that you're not fighting the tool. Reminded of that in a big way whenever I have to delve into WordPress custom logic in particular since everything about it is foreign to my daily dev work.
