Oh absolutely. The problem is that most people don't understand them to know why they are needed (in some circumstances), and wouldn't know how to replace them.

In other news: good to hear from you and hope you're doing ok.

This has been coming for a long time. The decline of the US and US power is being masked by the stock market making the rich richer.

The Greens are becoming more and more relevant though as most other parties... don't

Back in the distant past, when I was a student, the Zoology department at Cambridge caught fire. Now, they didn’t have much in the way of computers, but they *were* next door to the Computer Lab, who, um, did. A bunch of microvaxen, which all got smoke damaged. And, more pertinently, the 1/n

Being angry that "the company" hasn't done something is almost not worth it.

Until copyright infringement has a decent sanction, nobody is going to be able to do anything.

Bad actors have been doing things like this for years without most people being aware.

It wouldn't take me long to do it.

It's where the world has been going for years.

See also TikTok where videos are copied and reposted all the time.

At the risk of saying "but that's REALLY hard" it *is* really hard.

The social media companies are criticised for blocking when someone claims copyright infringement when it isn't, and criticised for not blocking when a copyright has been infringed.

Until they are responsible for publishing... 🤷
