Really enjoying my time in 🇪🇹 as part of the CROSSROADS -SSA project. Looking at #underutilsed #plants and investigating their potential for improving #soilhealth.

Great day in the field yesterday at some agropastoral plots south of Hawassa.

Day 2 of meetings in Hawassa, Ethiopia is planning for CROSSROADS-SSA led by Jo Smith This project explores under-utilised plants to restore soils through biodiversity. An add-on is a rainfall siimulator we built last week to explore soil erosion mitigation. @uniofaberdeen.bsky.social

Day 1 of project meetings in Hawassa, starting off with SMILE Project, Ethiopia . Great work making soil restoration a marketable opportunity to improve rural incomes at the same time as the environment. Led by Awdenegest Moges (Dr.) from Hawassa University.

Nice article. Little steps make up science.
This week’s newsletter talks about why science is so hard, or at least one reason….this was something I struggled with at the beginning of my PhD.

I wonder if other people feel or felt the same way? Let me know….
