I'm not sure there really is a direct comparable but downtown core is probably the best. Not something that is typically formally defined in planning documents though.

Used to stop here regularly on the way to/from Sudbury...most memorable visit was stopping to fix a frozen windshield wiper on my 1996 Escort by pouring hot water on it and having the small crack in my windshield quickly become a Large Crack. Ah, memories.
