Sharing something I've wanted to do for a while!

'The Institutions', a means for people wanting to get news about Ireland's institutions (mother and baby homes, industrial schools and Magdalene Laundries) all in one place.

I hope to...

I’m so grateful to Kim A Snyder for allowing me to be a part of this film.

“There’s never been a movie more vital this year than The Librarians. If you prize literature, intelligence, independent thought, safe spaces for children, it’s a necessary watch.”

I've just finished The Ghosts of Rome by Joseph O'Connor. A continuation of the story began in My Father's House. Based on the Escape Line that helped Allied personnel, Jews & Nazi opponents escape Rome. Set in 1944 & a must read for these turbulent times. Much needed humanity shown.

Watching @upfrontrte.bsky.social on immigration. No new ideas from Aontú or any of the panellists. Katie Hannon is not a great moderator.

The Nightwatchman by Louise Erdrich is our November bookclub book. Louise Erdrich is a consummate storyteller & created wonderful characters. The story resonated with me & I became so invested in the lives of the people in the book. Highly recommended.

Lots of people feeling like this at the moment.
Word of the Day, should you need it, is ‘latibulate’, a 17th-century verb meaning to find a corner somewhere and hide in it.
