I write about and review films for Film-news.co.uk. Horror in the main but I'm happy to cover all genres. Long time comic collector. After years of neglect getting stuck back into music.🇪🇦🇬🇧
Next up is Scandel Sheet (1952). First time watch. And that's it for Film Noir for a bit. Gothique Film Society next week, followed by BBC ghost stories for Christmas. #Noirvember #NowWatching #filmnoir @filmnoiruk.bsky.social @filmnoir.bsky.social

I can't remember if I've seen this. I've made a point of watching Ida Lupino's directorial work and this one may have slipt through. The Hitch-Hiker (1953). #Noirvember #NowWatching #filmnoir #idalupino

Tonight's Noirvember is Out of the Past (1947). Starring Robert Mitchum and Jane Greer. If there was ever a face and countenance that was perfectly suited for Film Noir, it's Mitchum's. #noirvember #filmnoir #NowWatching

Thoughts on Superman. Christopher Reeves' tenure will endure forever. With this film I reckon David Corenswet, will probably bury the Cavill years. The core is familiar but in essence it's a full on reboot & quite a weird one at times. If you want it to be, it's also highly political. Recommended

#NowWatching.
One of the great westerns. Cold in every sense of the word.

Tonight's noir is The Las Vegas Story (1952). I found a cheap dvd set of Mature's noir films. The transfers are poor. The films are ok. Interesting to see Mature away from the sword & sandal epics he's better known for. #filmnoir @filmnoiruk.bsky.social @noirfoundation.bsky.social

Final Destination Bloodlines. Not much new going here. Why change a successful formula? Still a lot of fun with some nasty deaths. The black humour has been ramped up and is more overtly going for laughs. Recommended. @warnerbrospictures.bsky.social #finaldestination #bloodlines

#NowWatching first time watch, Gambling House. Good film and some of the themes are scarily prevalent.

Am I still keeping to the spirit of #PreCodeApril @filmfan1971.bsky.social with tonight's films? Laurel and Hardy's Leave 'em Laughing (1928) & The Finishing Touch (1928).

Tonight's film noir is Easy Living (1949) starring Victor Mature. An actor whom I know from sword and sandals epics but judging from this boxset did a lot more. All will be first time watches. @filmnoiruk.bsky.social #filmnoir

@filmfan1971.bsky.social #PreCodeApril neglected pre code April this year a bit as we seem to be scattered across a number of forums. Tonight starting with Hell's House (1932) with Bette Davis. First time watch.

#NowWatching first time watch. Creepy and gory spooker from 2002. Doesn't hang about with either the plot or action. Good cast too.

Tonight's double are an Inner Sanctum Mystery, Dead Man's Eyes (1944), followed by The Return of Dr Mabuse (1961). I'd put them on the fringes of Noir as both have aspects of the genre, if not classic examples. #innersanctum #drmabuse @filmnoiruk.bsky.social

Absolutely outstanding television. A very complex area that everyone involved nails: writing, acting, directing, music the lot, it's a remarkable series. I can't recommend it enough and I'd suggest going in blind if still possible.
