What movie villain is a horrible “person,” but an absolute joy to watch on screen?

Raven Rock, in the post-apocalypse, will become the home base for the Enclave's eastern branch, as detailed in the interactive documentary Fallout 3. #HouseOfDynamite #HATM

Dead Alive/Braindead. I think Peter Jackson's version of 1950s New Zealand is so charming before the zombies show up, in part because it is a model.

Would also be keen on Cemetery Man/Dellamore Dellamorte, even if there are grim implications there. #TrainToBusan #HATM

American audiences might know Ma Dong-seok by his Americanized name Don Lee, under which he played Gilgamesh in The Eternals. #TrainToBusan #HATM

Sexy Jon Lovitz?

Yeah, that's the ticket!

"Martin Sheen" will eventually be a fictional president, but it takes a few more years. #Goonies #HATM

Spielberg wrote the story here, along with Indiana Jones, and likely found inspiration for the boulder trap in the Donald Duck comic "Lost in the Andes" (written and drawn by Carl Barks). Could be that the Fratellis were based on the Beagle Boys, perhaps? #Goonies #HATM

A healthy diet of Carl Barks comics (Spielberg) and Marvel comics (Columbus). #Goonies #HATM

Economic conditions were still not spectacular in 1985, though things were better than they had been. Home foreclosures are still happening, and things will get worse in the next few years (savings and loans crisis yet looms). #Goonies #HATM

The Goonies was a solid hit in the summer of 1985, opening in second place against megahit Rambo: First Blood Part II, holding steady from there, grossing $61 million against a $19 million budget. It naturally did great business on home video and cable as well, because of the octopus. #Goonies #HATM

There is a lot of history of international cooperation between space programs; my favorite piece of material culture from those is the Apollo-Soyuz test project patch, which featured Snoopy (NASA's unoffical mascot) and the Russian bear. #TheMartian #HATM

Leather Goddesses From Phobos is a real game from 1986, designed by Steve Meretzky, notable for including both a choice of player gender (with attendant plot shifts), and a "naughtiness" setting ranging from "tame" to "lewd." It is fun, if more as an artifact. #TheMartian #HATM

It was not so long ago we actually had an astronaut in charge of NASA, but we are far past the glory days. #TheMartian #HATM

To my mind, Matt Damon should have won the Best Actor Oscar for 2015, over Leonardo DiCaprio trying too hard in a perfectly dull Revenant. Damon doesn't get to play off anyone, has limited spaces and bulky costuming, and still manages to make this engaging and endearing. #TheMartian #HATM

The Martian was a contender (not a winner), with seven Oscar nominations - Visual Effects (lost to Ex Machina), Sound Mixing, Editing, and Production Design (Mad Max: Fury Road), Adapted Screenplay (The Big Short), Actor (DiCaprio in The Revenant), and Picture (Spotlight). #TheMartian #HATM

The Martian was a solid hit in the autumn of 2015, opening in first place and holding it for the entire month of October (excepting the release of Goosebumps in week 3) - its budget was relatively low ($108 million), which made its $630 million gross all the sweeter. #TheMartian #HATM

I regret to inform you that Jennifer Grey is a nepo baby - her father is Joel Grey, best known for playing the MC in Cabaret (for which he won an Oscar). #DirtyDancing #HATM

Dirty Dancing received a single Oscar nomination for Best Song, which it naturally won, and had some awards buzz, netting Golden Globe nominations for Swayze (lost to Robin Williams for Good Morning Vietnam) and Grey (lost to Cher in Moonstruck, on her way to the Oscar). #DirtyDancing #HATM

Dirty Dancing was a surprise hit in late summer 1987, opening in fourth place in a busy August weekend, and did steady business through Christmas (staying in the weekend top ten until January). It did even better globally, landing at $214 million against a $4.5 million budget. #DirtyDancing #HATM

One of the explanations for the soldiers falling to pieces here is that they are Territorial Army (basically the national guard), and way out of their depth - hence getting utterly destroyed by some dude and a few zombies. It's like Mike from Spaced trying to handle things. #28DaysLater #HATM
