As a defense attorney, I will have my own decisions to make when Dark ICE – in or out of uniform; with or without badges or masks – comes for my clients, on the street or in the Courthouse.

Regardless of the wisdom of what Judge Dugan did or didn’t do, there are ways these things have always been and should be handled. The enormous power that federal agents have has been abused by DOJ – at the direction of the overtly political overlords in Washington DC.

And, rather than be polite and respectful of an elected Circuit Court Judge, they decided to make a show of it for their reliably obedient national Fox News/Talk Radio/Social Media megaphones by charging into her courtroom like thugs and dragging her off to custody.

So now the Immigration Terror campaign has found its way to my turf – the Milwaukee County Courthouse. And to someone I have known since law school, Hannah Dugan.

And now they found an opportunity to terrify the judiciary as well – a two-for-one the 24/7 Trump political shop could not have dreamed of, but certainly hoped for.

This is the kind of manpower this mad administration is willing to put into making their immigration numbers for political, not public safety, reasons; to terrify a whole population of brown-skinned residents, not for legitimate law-enforcement priorities.

One thing that strikes me about the details of this is that our government sent 6 people from 4 different agencies into the Courthouse to chase down an alleged misdemeanant. It’s reported that he was deported before and came back (if you believe that) but, still.

I got a call from an FBI agent. Apparently they noticed I was scheduled to be in that court on April 18th, and indeed I was. After convincing the agent – I think – that I didn’t see anything (got there later), I had one question for her: Don’t you people have better things to do?

This is especially the case because the poison that is RightWing media is why we are where we are. Regardless of how good our message is - and I think the Harris messaging and campaign was just fine - you can't convince people who refuse to listen. Too many Trump voters are siloed and out of reach.
