Businesses such as Ring and others might be compelled by "national security" to participate, or paid to keep their silence, under the threat of prosecution or economic ruin. Given what we've seen in just one year from this Administration, any and all of this is not out of the realm of possibility.

Even with the most benevolent government, such systems would be considered mass invasion of privacy. Under authoritarian governments, such systems would destroy any freedom to challenge leaders or policy, and worse. AI modification of video/audio could be used to create any narrative desired.

Such aggregated data could then be analyzed by any number of tools to create any number of profiles around individuals, time, location, etc., for further processing and analysis. Such systems and methods would be totally unknown to the public, protected by "national security" legal shields.

I suspect that the US, China, and Russia (and others), have all developed systems to permit the large-scale aggregation of as many personal/private/public/government video and sensing points possible.
