IQ tests are designed to measure a person's dysfunction in critical thinking relative to the average person.

If you interpret that to logically mean an IQ test measures higher ability by extension, then you are precisely the category of person the IQ test is designed to evaluate.

Karl Friston is my all time favourite.

Hilariously though, sounds like he's doing the same decompositions as Larissa Albantakis who I shared recently for the same or similar process! She's in really good company despite focusing on consciousness. Same measurement app road.

Since everything that can be written in javascript is written in javascript, I wonder if github actions to nom packages, the Shai-hulud worm might actually eek its way into operating systems and kernels eventually.

Is there a boundary between javascript and everything?

I don't think I think not...

What is the point of a cover letter with a job application in 2025 if it's not written under the supervision of a registered proctor?

LLMs rendered job cover letters utterly deprecated the moment gpt 3.5 turbo was offered free to the public (if they sacrifice personal as part of ToS, of course)...

Just gotta say, even as a liverpool lifer, Jordan Pickford (Everton keeper) is a pure class act.

He may be a bona fide Jedi, I swear.

If you're into the process of science and the phenomenology of existence, here's a way way underrated channel you'll love for its deliberation and clever methodologies presented.

Big picture thinking requires fully exploring the distasteful. The value is context; transcending flavour in the experience.

Like pain, sacrifice, struggle and toil before accomplishment, thinking big means trying on a pair of shoes that don't fit and still going for a run to know it holistically.

This keeps coming up: AI is replacing jobs only where companies are myopic in seeking short term results.

buzz word + reduced labour costs = short term gains

A retail banker is required to be competent but they would spend a lot of time cross referencing text books to communicate to clients.

I'll never understand how the mentality of mccarthyism persists with the benefit of hindsight, libraries, and literacy.

How's it even possible to rally political support on putting up more barriers between people and food, education, shelter, and medicine?

Cut taxes or force everyone to pay them🤔?

If insomnia were a superpower, I'd be as famous as Ludwig Boltzmann, George Eastman, or Alan Turing. Physics is more important to historians than madness, it seems.

Everybody these days is all anti-somnescents... it's disgusting.

How many civilians am I supposed to terrorize? What's the rule?

Perú is the only country that has a cell block for its presidents and prime ministers doing time.

Let that be a lesson to us all: if you're not already indicted for abuse of authority, fraud or sedition then you'll never be rich and famous like a true patriotic civil servant. Should've gone to ivy.

I can't imagine a reason that would justify abandoning my boycott of US comestibles when they don't even have a functioning EPA and less than 1% of our food products are being inspected... at least there are standards and consequences on this side of the border, I'll pay an extra $0.50 for that.
If Loblaws thinks Canadians are going back to 🇺🇸 products, they’re going to get burned. Canadians are PROUD of our local businesses and we support them.

I will continue to seek out Canadian products, with my “discretionary” spending used to support small, local products.

I AM CANADIAN 🇨🇦
Loblaws actually an American stooge.

Loblaws is rich, fat and lazy. They don't want to change their golden money machine.

Loblaws sells mostly American products, it's the most disloyal company in Canada. Now the Loblaws CEO is saying Canadians are weak, that we are giving up on #BoycottUSA

Marjorie Taylor Greene's pension must be an afterthought of the timing of her resignation.

Nobody would throw away the pinnacle of their gainful career for $8,700/yr (or $200k in her lifetime).

For reference: her net worth jumped $21mln since joining Congress...

Every single model of smart TV should be required to sell an identical one without any of the smart features.

It's knowingly selling user data and notoriously intrusive with opaque terms of service. We as a population don't benefit from not being able to buy a TV without its preinstalled spyware.

Can we raise funds for public psych evale of our leaders? I understand the campaign nor the tax base deserve to pay of it but if we're willing to raise funds privately then public officials should be forced to get paid to take a privately funded psychiatric evaluation with results available by FOIA.

I am so thankful for this administration's incompetence. For as cruel and greedy as these politicians are, it would be infinitely worse if their staff knew how to file motions, briefs, or butcher the constitution with amendments.

Even still, some lives were ruined forever so remember to donate too.

Even the smartest people in the world have blinders on to the reality of time and its relationship with our biases.

In time, at this rate, screw what USA does or thinks if they don't want to participate in UN or COP or whatever then they'll only grow weaker and less relevant themselves over time.
Why is Europe assuming everyone will always want to do business with USA, use USD as the reserve currency, or rely on security from a violent offender?

When diplomacy works it's just a matter of time EU markets and consumers will outgrow USA markets who are sprinting away from the rest of G20 now.
