now have to complete an overly complicated multi-step process involving both a shoddily coded webapp and Teams approval flows just to maybe get approved to use the PTO I have *earned*.
Or else I get demoted.

apps you expect your office workers to use with any regularity need to be designed with the "don't have time for this" mentality as a guiding factor
because "tl;dr" applies so much more to the workplace than long forum posts
and users don't like to read

i really want to give my end users the tools they need to solve their own issues (that they are capable of solving by just doing something properly)
but frequently I just get so frustrated with them either not responding or being dense that I just grab the reins and do it for them

One of the many things that gets me about the Louvre password is you KNOW there are a bunch of world-weary sysadmins who gave up the fight years ago bc administrators kept complaining about a real password being TOO HARD & now they're simultaneously like 'I fucking TOLD YOU' & also in huge trouble.
