This is only about half the contents, but you can see how diverse it is, drawing from hugely popular UK and US mainstream shows (Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Tales Of The Unexpected, etc) and lesser known cult stuff like Beasts, Haunted, etc.

Looking forward to diving into this one.

Bit of a stressful weekend, with Mrs C not well (now on the mend, thankfully), and my folks (understandably) telling me not to bring the bug down to theirs, so didn't get to see my dad on Father's Day.

However, I got a lovely book haul in the new big Oxfam superstore, so that was nice.

If I'm walking down the street and this person suddenly tries to touch me without my permission, I won't be held accountable for my actions.

"Professional" she might be, but I will end her.

I can do 1987 if you will permit it.

I was in my old home town for a week in 2022 while Mrs C was away on business and decided to take some pics.

I stopped to snap this that I knew was there but as I was getting my camera out, a guy on his way in to Costcutter leaned a BMX against the shutter.

I was away over the weekend so this is slightly late, but it's that time of year again when I set fire to the kitchen (deliberately).

Ah, memories of the time I got threatened by a Tesco Metro in Wilmslow (which rhymes rather pleasingly):

Watching Skeleton Crew.

Two things to note about education in the Star Wars universe:

1) Careers are assigned to kids after a test - a bit like in Antz.

2) When asked what career they hope to be assigned, if any kid says "I'd like to mash potatoes," the teacher droids all laugh hysterically.

I don't think I'd have had either of my books published if I hadn't read it.

That's why I asked Bob if he would provide a quote for the back page of Bait. I had a feeling he'd get it, and he totally did.

He picked out my influences - even a more subtle one that others missed - with ease.

But after a year of meds and professional help at work, I found that it was more like this.

All those thoughts are still there but are not so mixed up anymore, and I can switch to another track more easily if I want to.

But I can also focus on what's ahead and ignore the other tracks if I need to.

And I assumed that the medication and occupational therapy I would be getting would turn that mess into this.

All those things swirling around up there would be silenced so I could concentrate on one thing at a time and I'd have the agency to change direction to a new track when I needed to.

After my diagnosis in 2022 I described my brain as being like this.

Multiple streams of thought, all mixing up and intertwining, making it very easy to get on the wrong track, or to take the wrong turn and get lost or locked into going the wrong way for miles

In Badgers Crossing they're called Grey Paths; originally only trails made by The Grey Man of the Woods, but over time any kind of dirt track, natural or man-made came to be known by that name.

Those who are able to sense where the land wants them to go make sure to only walk true Grey Paths.

I'd just parked and was getting my camera out of the boot when a guy came and leaned his bike up against it before heading into the supermarket next door.

One of those rare occasions when the perfect photo op presented itself AND I had my good camera with me.

They don't happen very often!

I had an incredible day when I took that black and white library one. I went around my old town with my SLR to snap old buildings before they vanished.

I stopped at some shops to buy a drink, but I was also hoping that this old place was still there as I wanted a better pic of it.

Here's the original library. The fire was apparently in 1979. I remember the outside really well - can't remember the inside at all, but then, I was only 4 and wasn't in the habit of going to the library all that often.

Here's a snap I took in 2022 of the former library (now offices and a community art space) where I grew up, where I hired out Usborne's Haunted Houses, Dracula, The Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy, Arthur C Clarke's World Of Strange Powers, etc.

It's not much to look at but, this place made me.

I did these a few months apart. The book was hand drawn, and then coloured in Photoshop. The portrait was done in Procreate with an iPad and Apple Pencil. Although I like them both, and can see hallmarks of my style in each - there's just something a little more tangible about the hand drawn one.

I made one for Christmas 2022. I've done cake before, but never "proper" icing - that firm, but not so much that it breaks your teeth kind of hard.

Wasn't sure I'd get it right but it actually worked a treat.

I used the James Martin Christmas cake and the Royal icing recipes from BBC GoodFood.

A nice thing happened.

Earlier this week I made a lighthearted post about a recommendation email from Amazon and, in good humour, they joined the fun.

When I got home from work today, the concierge handed me this:

It really made my day.

Huge thanks to Amazon Social Media Team

Ooh, nice.

I snapped these beauties in my in-laws' front garden on Easter day.

I got some Apple vouchers from my family for Christmas and birthday this year so I used them to get money off a new iPad and Procreate. Mrs C got me the new Apple Pencil.

I've been meaning to try it out for art for a while and this is my first attempt. What do you think?

Today I am mostly thinking about a CD I pre-ordered last month and whoever wasn't paying attention to the spell-check when adding it to their website.

Needless to say, I was highly disppointed when the CD arrived this weekend and it didn't contain "Opposums Attack Paula Abdul".
