Agreed. Particularly Eraserhead was huge for my friends. What a loss.

Yeah, I started with those two because they have many very quiet parts. And no noise at all. It was kind of a thrilling time in home audio 😀

I bought my first CD player when I got my first job after college. Two of the first CDs were Melissa Etheridge’s debut and Springsteen’s Nebraska. I was kind of on an acoustic kick at the time and they sounded SO GOOD on CD.

Despite some issues with it, I have enjoyed it. No adaptation is perfect, and I'd very much rather have an imperfect adaptation than none at all! I love seeing Tolkien's works brought to life, no matter what. So yeah, that's my Tolkien journey thus far, and I'm really digging it.

I plan to at least finish the trilogy and appendices and then finish The Silmarillion this year. That's my goal. I expect I will probably keep going with Unfinished Tales and so on after that. But one thing at a time. I've also watched all of The Rings of Power on Amazon. And...

Since starting (at age 58), I've finished The Hobbit, The Fellowship of the Ring, and The Two Towers. I read other things in between and then come back to Tolkien. I will start The Return of the King here in a few days. I keep watching these great folks, keep browsing my reference companion. Now...
