Il est vraiment impossible sur les medias classiques en France de parle de Palestine (sans mentionner le genocide) sans etre taxer d'anti-Semitisme. MERCI CHER MONSIEUR POUR L'ALERT. :)

... including by starving them.

Not sure I agree about the wc being more conserv. I think it divides between those who have been brought up well educated & those who have been brought up ignorant. Nor about the pro class. If it serves their interests--note how brown Zukerberg's nose got during WH meeting--they'll support fascists

Hah! I ran into the same problematic eventually w/ my W. 8th St digs. I remember walking home from the LES 1 morning & being the nme person who came upon a divine armchair someone had left on the street to shake his/her head: "No room left." My best find was a UPS mail bag full of retro records.

There will always be a New York. (Sorry for all the cliches; I've been looking for Paris apartments all day; I do need a vacation.)... It's reassuring to hear that that spirit of solidarity in the urban jungle is still alive.

Uptown suits me fine. Love the area around Fort Tryon.

See my above comment; I've been in (jaded, cynical) France too long...! Not sure class comes into it?

I noticed a post- 9/11 shift, but I've always found that whenever NYers can safely inject a bit of humanity they do. Yrs ago, struggling w/suitcases, I asked a woman for directions to the JFK Express. She not only gave me dir, but took 1 of my suitcases & offered me a clean shirt to wipe off my sweat

Yes but remember they're not chez them! And they've made a choice to be in NY. And by virtue of being there they're curious and open. (Yes, I've been here too long and am jaded on the French.)

PS: Not sure my comment of yesterday went through, but just to add: The serendipitous thing is that furnishing my 1st Paris apt by found objects -- introducing that aleatory aspect -- yielded its own distinct design & curatorial aesthetic. Has it been similar for you, furnishings and wardrobe-wise?

.. which is racism by another name and which, yes, merits their being banned.
