I have recently founded a LGBT and ally alliance group for supporters & community at my local football club. Eradicating toxic masculinity and homophobia won't be easy but people like me won't be silenced. There are young players, future players out there who deserve equality!

Suicide Prevention is also... proper networks and safe guarding. It is tackling loneliness. It's ensuring people can get by financially without the burden of worry. Its permanent employment. It's protected rights. It's security.
It's about people in power actually making a difference in our country.

Prevention of Suicide starts with our interactions and actions towards one another. It's as simple as that. The statistics show that young men and middle-aged men are the most likely. Many football clubs, footballers need to do more. It's the same clubs willing to be loud. Being loud saves lives!

I have no shame in admitting that that's how I'm spending my Valentines Day. Reading a book, with friends on in the background and my dog by my side! Bliss.

We see time and time again, people who have died by suicide, whose life could have been saved, by such positive interactions. You never know what someone is going through.

Our interactions can have a huge impact on someone - without us knowing. It's important that we treat people with kindness. Loneliness is painful. Robin Williams says it beautifully -

Me too & fast! Before we lose more lives. The knife in the station incident was a real cry for help. A metaphor of how he was feeling,as many can't talk about their feelings. Another sign of toxic masculinity. No MH first aid? No hug? It's utterly heartbreaking. Thank you for sharing their story.

@danigaravelli.bsky.social thank you for highlighting the young people, who deserved way better of our failed system. As someone who passionately campaigns for MH and Suicide Prevention, these YP will never be forgotten. Suicide can always be prevented. As a society, we must do better. May they RIP.
