Worth it so far.

Google photos showed me a "on this day" memory and it was just a scene from Shrek.

This is probably my favourite, I had to change it to allow GIFs because I loved it so much.

Anyway here's a photo of the dog to cheer you up from that slightly depressing post. Hard to believe it's even the same species as Luke.

Thinking about my boy on what would have been his 10th birthday.

Life is calmer now but there's definitely something missing.

The egg bar is coveted AF.

Our new reality of life without him has been so difficult already. You really miss the small things. What I wouldn't give to watch him munch on a cucumber again. To tuck him in and tell him goodnight. To get woken up by him in the morning.

He was such a pure soul and brought so much joy to us all.

CW: Pet Death

We said goodbye to our golden boy this morning. He passed peacefully as we hugged him and told him he was the bestest boy, which he was.

He was such a caring, affectionate dog, beloved by so many. I'm going to miss him every single day.

Go give your pet a hug, in honour of my Lukie.

A (very relevant) reminder that bluesky has very robust filtering tools available in the settings.

Poor guy started having seizures again. He recovers well, but obviously not nice for everyone involved. He's still happy, loves his walks, so we're taking it as it comes.

Last year I took the left photo, thinking "this is our last Christmas together", the right was a few days ago. So that's nice!

This year I was "guided" so much by their algorithm, which is largely rigged towards big popstars.

Tbf some were great and I love me some pop, but I do feel sad I'm a bit less "into" music than in the past, mostly using it as background noise while working, which is a shame.

Luke has been seizure free since we've started his medication.
It's also made his appetite come back which has meant he's full of energy again.
So he's doing pretty well again!

CW: pet illness, less positive

It's been a rough few days for this boy, and our household in general. The vet seemed pretty positive on Monday, but unfortunately he had his first seizure on Thursday, and another tonight.

It's heartbreaking, but he's done so well to make it this far.

He's clearly loving the snow.

Pretty sure he's just thinking about the Spanish sun we cruelly took him from 4 years ago.

For those eagerly following this saga, I replaced the drive (which involves pulling off the screen, thanks apple), it changed nothing.

Plugged it into ethernet and it's all working fine now. Still had to change some stuff via terminal. Forgot how terrible and unreliable WiFi used to be.

The iMac booted up but is now stuck in some mad bootloop. Going to see if it sorts itself overnight but if not, replace the SSD (which is probably a good idea anyway) and try again.

It was working... At least...

You can tell how excited I was when each of the devices, one by one, booted up perfectly fine because how blurry the image is.

The laptops (2 thinkpads, 1 HP something) all had enterprise windows that needs an email and password, so the person probably just considered them ewaste.

CW: Pet illness

We had vet appointment today, a general check up, and the vets told us he's doing "exceptionally well". We thought we were losing him soon but it seems like he's got other ideas, and another Christmas with him is sounding pretty realistic.

Idk what's powering him, but I need some.

Here's a nice wee video of my old dog eating some grass. Enjoy.

He's an incredible dog and I am so proud of how strong and brave he's been. Next week will be 4 years since we got him. It might be his last wee bit of time, he's come so far from the skinny, scared stray from Spain to a loving, affectionate old guy in Glasgow.
