I can't yet define the mid-20's current design aesthetic but I know in my soul that this lenovo systems update screen is an important clue
the system update window in the lenovo vantage app on the left is a weird clip art illustration of a man with a puffy body and small head writing on a check list while above him are three cloud download icons and lines that presumably represent the checklist he's looking at illustration is made of blocks of currently trendy shades of color like a mustardy goldenrod, a oranger salmon pink, muted greenish teal, and dull blue lavender, the checklist mixes and matches those same colors the image might be AI or it might just be bad but there really isn't any discernable intent to the artistic choices: why is his head small? why do the colors of his clothes get remixed? why a flat still imagine floating on a minimalist white window? you get the sense you're the first person in the chain of events that lead up to you seeing it to consider these questions at all

a large black 12" straight walled frying pan on a stove, filled with little yellow orange cherry tomatoes a layer of tomatoes completely covers the bottom of the pan (113 square inches) on top of which sit another twenty or so individual tomatoes the 12" black frying pan now containing a simmered down completed tomato sauce which is much more yellow orange than a traditional one, it almost looks more like a squash puree

it's not all in my head, in our lifetimes we've quietly experienced a critical jamboree contraction
a screenshot of the google books Ngram viewer for the word jamboree jamboree goes sharply from virtually unused in 1910 to very popular in the late 1920, dipping during the years of WW2, before returning to its trend with a peak usage in the late 1950 from there it drops through a trough in the 1980s before rallying just before the year 2000 since then it has been a steep decline with jamboree now only being used about half as often in 2019 as it was just 20 years earlier

it turned out good and it fits well and it's all I can do to fight the urge to unravel the top third so I can lower the color break by two inches
