A lovely post. It reminds me a bit of this: tailscale.com/blog/remembe... which was the inspiration for Tailscale.

"The Promised LAN" - a lament from my friend @pault.ag on the internet as it is today, as it was, and as it could/should be, if you answer the call-to-action and link up with your friends ❤

After around 4 years, I wrote down a manifesto for a project a handful of us participate in called "The Promised LAN".

Some personal #debian news here

I'm incredibly grateful, humbled and excited to have been entrusted with the opportunity to serve on Debian's technical committee. I'm looking forward to a lot of listening, learning and careful work.

I've just pushed @debian.bsky.social versions hamm (2.0), bo (1.3), rex (1.2), and buzz (1.1) @docker.com container images to hub.docker.com/r/debian/eol -- they're a little esoteric to successfully use thanks to old kernel expectations, but they do work and represent those old releases accurately!

I wrote up a post about a joke which ended with me building a UEFI binary that would boot into a picture of Kier. Praise Kier! I wouldn't usually post stuff like this, EXCEPT using the UEFI rust crate was awesome. Took me way longer to write the post than write the hack.

not me over here spending 45 minutes building a custom efi binary and booting my laptop into it for a joke that wasn't even all that funny

I've been frustrated at times with the state of ax25 in linux (not to mention platforms like #OpenBSD), so I've been using patty (thanks kz3rox!) for all my packet code and it's been awesome

This post has no point except this is good software and I feel like it should be more widely used kz3rox.us
