Discovery s1 rewatch complete. gripes and shrug of an ending to the big war storyline aside, this season held up surprisingly well for me. lots of fun new toys and SMG nails Michael (who I always thought was severely underwritten) right from the start. it's a shame we were so hard on this show

I loved my rewatch of the first half of DIS s1
then the Mirror Universe half hits and we get several catastrophically bad developments: Tyler murders Culber and assaults Burnham (the show forgives him), Georgiou returns as a genocidal Emperor (show forgives her), Lorca is revealed to be evil, dies

this was never going to compare to TRON: Legacy but it's pretty good as its own thing. it's more of a companion to Reznor and Ross' The Social Network, which is a great soundtrack

SNW's multiple season obsession with this romance(?) is so bad... we know it goes nowhere and both of these characters (and actors) deserve way more interesting storylines
