I’d estimate that at least 95% of autographs on eBay are fake, and I’m being generous there! But these days it’s becoming harder to find books and records that aren’t signed!
I’m waiting to win the Euromillions, so I can get the ones from my ‘only if I win the Euromillions’ list!

A mixture of places, but rarely eBay, unless it’s from a dealer registered with AFTAL or UACC. Although I did get a bargain on eBay once, from someone not registered. Laurel and Hardy, for well below the usual price. But I ran it past an Authenticator first, before buying it.

I went to watch Chris Difford a few years ago, in an old working mans club in West Yorkshire. I was pretty much sat at his feet the whole show. I really like Difford’s solo albums, probably more than I like Squeeze’s albums.

And I mentioned recently that my son kindly bought me a copy of the single that’s at the very top of my list of singles I hate for my birthday (the little sod!). Well, despite hating her single I actually have Lulu’s autograph too, as I have hundreds from people associated with James Bond films.

I only saw the band once, in Liverpool in the early 90s, supported by Nick Heyward. Great night. Paul Carrack was in the band at the time.
RIP Gilson

I’m jealous now! I’ve seen Nick several times over the past 35 years, most recently in Leeds last year. I don’t drive and the nearest the band are playing to here (Barnsley) is York, so I wouldn’t be able to get back home so will have to miss that tour. We need more concert venues in Sheffield!

Fab collection. Where was the gig? And was it the full band or just Nick?

Ramping up the self indulgence this week! I don’t normally tell people I collect autographs, cos too many people like to then act cooler than cool and tell me “they’re only people”, etc.

To all working class people who value paid annual leave, sick pay, maternity/paternity leave and other employee rights, have a look into what else the ECHR protects and don’t fall for the ‘we need out of the ECHR so we can send asylum seekers to Rwanda’ line. Immigration is not Reform’s priority.

Love that bag.
My postie made comments about the amount of records I buy a while back, so I told him the obvious record shaped parcel he was handing me was a pair of shoes my daughter had bought. It’s become a standing joke between us, confusing my daughter when she took a parcel from him one day!

Some great songs in there - Perfect Place (love that single), 1-2-3, Embarrassment, Maneater, Physical, Is She Really Going Out With Him and the US Remix of Wham! Rap. And if you flip the Neil single over you get Hurdy Gurdy Mushroom Man, which I haven’t heard for 40 years, but still know the words!

I’m not one for liking drawing on record sleeves, but that one’s quite good.

Can’t Get Out of Bed is both a fab song and quite apt for me this morning. I threw the sheets back at 9:30 to get up, but then closed my eyes again…

Anyway, if you thought reducing me to tears was bad, you should try saying Pet Sounds is 3 great tracks and a load of filler. The responses I got only just stopped short of them forming a lynch mob!

Ha! You never expected a Dream Academy superfan to be part of the group!
When I sold my first vinyl collection [shudder], the only collections I saved were my Stephen Duffy and Dream Academy collections, because I am such a fan and cos it had been so hard, pre-eBay, to find all the rarities I had.

Simply Red’s first album was brill. Mick Hucknall’s voice is brill. Their second album, however, is a bit rubbish. So rubbish, in fact, that I spent more money to buy a 12” promo of Suffer, a fantastic track from that album, than it would have cost to buy the LP!

99.9% of ‘skits’ on rap albums are rubbish, but on an otherwise great album, why did Big Pun think we needed a track of him having a bit of how’s your father?? It’s probably the track I’ve most skipped…actually no, I forgot about Double Fantasy, where I skip every second track!

Say what?!? When I saw the picture I presumed you were going to say fantastic album but Bound To Be is a bit out of place. I love this album (and this band). If I wasn’t already lying down I’d have to go for a lie down!

Although you might want to search for the actual title of Ed Scissor’s album! Better. Luck. Next. Life.
