"We also want to work with others to form a left front to give people a clear governmental alternative to FF and FG rule at the next possible opportunity."
We need to learn the lessons from #GE24.

Paul Murphy: Clearly, the Irish left needs to unite once and for all ahead of future elections
A week on from General Election 2024, the People Before Profit TD looks at the fragmented left and asks what it can do to change politics in the future.

No more delays. No more excuses.

A full ban on trade with the illegal settlements is the very least we should be doing.

Ireland has a proud history of resisting empire and standing up to colonialism - we must not continue the complicity that this government is happy to ignore.

There can be no climate justice without social justice.

We're slipping deeper into a barbaric world that concentrates even more wealth into the hands of the biggest polluting billionaires and corporations.
It doesn't have to be like this, but we'lll have to take back power from tthem!
November 14, 2025 at 3:01 PM
People Before Profit are using our time in the Dáil next week to propose a joint motion with left parties to demand implementation of the Occupied Territories Bill including goods and services by Christmas.

The time for delay and watering down is over.

It's time for action.

Government's housing plan is an admission of failure in advance.

The policy of stuffing increasingly more money into the pockets of private developers and corporate landlords will continue to fail.

We need a State Construction Company to cut out the profiteering and directly build public housing.
November 14, 2025 at 11:16 AM
FF-FG are "prisoners of an ideology".

The latest today is just yet another neoliberal giveaway to developers.

The housing crisis will continue to get worse as the government continues to try and "incentivise" developers more.

We need a State Construction Company.

Have a look at Micheál Martin scrambling.

He doesn't like his gross hypocrisy called out.

He wants to bring in dirty fracked gas.

Speaking out of one side of his mouth at #COP30, and back to usual when he's home.
November 13, 2025 at 6:02 PM
We have to be clear about the truth in the face of government spin.
Disabled people have been made poorer by about €1400.
Don't be fooled. It's a political choice to make people struggle more this year.
November 13, 2025 at 4:10 PM
Renters are sacrificed to vulture funds by this government.

Government policy is to increase rents higher and faster to try and "attract international investment funds".

We need an eviction ban and rent controls to actually bring rents down.

This is awful.

The revelations at the weekend from a CHI whistleblower are shocking.

We need a full public inquiry for #JusticeForHarvey.

The Dáil must debate this issue and have the minister answer questions on this issue.
November 12, 2025 at 5:15 PM
Happy to be supporting Ruth Coppinger's Bill to ban fox hunting.

The Dáil will vote on this on 17 December, the first time in history a ban has been proposed on it.

This is not a "rural pursuit", it's animal cruelty pure and simple.

"Nothing about us without us"

Our communities know the difficulties that come with deprivation and drug abuse.

The people on the ground involved in delivering these essential services have to be included in the implementation of the National Drugs Strategy.
November 11, 2025 at 5:16 PM
Where is the funding for DRIVE??

This government seems to be pulling funding for this essential project, leaving families in the lurch from the 1st of January.

Services like these are essential in our communities and they MUST be properly resourced and funded!

Our new President, Catherine Connolly.

A President for peace, justice and equality.

Well done to everyone in the movement which made this happen.

Don't let them get away with trying blame migrants and give themselves cover.

The housing, healthcare, and cost of living crises we face are a result of continuing government policy.

All the government is talking about doing is turning up the dial of performative cruelty on a minority - on asylum

"It seems like this government is continuing the policy that we've seen over the past 10 years or so of effectively the slow strangulation of our drugs and alcohol task forces."

We need actual investment and serious funding for these essential services in our communities.

Don't let this government and their lackeys distract you. The issues we face in the housing, healthcare, and cost of living crises are real. Migrants don't make any of those problems worse.

It's government week after week that makes it worse! Don't let them blame migrants to give themselves cover.
Don't let government distract you from the real issues
"So they're saying now that migration is too high, but actually it's a figure that's coming down. So what has changed is they feel under political pressure. And it is very clearly at attempt to distract from all of their failures - in terms of housing, over 5000 children growing up in emergency accommodation, and so on, and to blame the most vulnerable." "Everyday, pretty much, I get emails about the state of the bus services in Ballycullen, Knocklyon, Rathfarnham."

Buses fill after the first few stops, and don't collect the rest of the route.

It doesn't have to be like this.

We should have massively expanded bus routes and services.

Are people still going to try to deny the existence of a campaign of far right terror in this state?

It's now day 48 of the hunger strike by survivors of the industrial and reformatory schools.

Maurice, Mariam, Mary, and Mary need written commitments for their very basic asks.

They need access to HAA medical cards and full state contributory pension.

The government must act now.

Isn't it funny how none of the ministers calling for "a debate" all week will actually debate it?

Don't fall for their mass distraction tactics, dog whistling to try and distract from government policy that's created the housing, healthcare, and cost of living crises we face.
Isn't it funny that government won't actually debate?

It's distract, distract, distract! Migrants aren't to blame for any of the crises we face. Performative cruelty of vulnerable people will not makes things better for a single person living here. This is the truth about government rhetoric.

They want to distract from the fact they're responsible for the crises we face.

If they get away with this performative cruelty, homeless people will be next.
We have to stand against the establishment & their attempts to divide us.
