spotted an old book of Tom Phillips with a chapter on this work. Even though A Humument and AGW have been with me for decades, your post was the first time I’d ever seen After Raphael in full, so the coincidence struck me.

to get a cat fix. The last time I was there, as I browsed the SF shelves the owner told me about running in to “Ted” Sturgeon frequently in the Seventies. I’m so glad it’s survived intact all these decades.
