That’s your prerogative. But to me it doesn’t seem implausible that obsessively interacting with a chatbot might not be healthy for a mentally ill person? People generally sense when someone’s broken with reality and behave accordingly, but I’m not sure LLMs can do this. (Maybe they can though!)

(And I agree that journalism can pander or fear monger, but it’s a little hard to know if this is the case without someone actually doing a study?)

I agree! But the possibility doesn’t seem as far-fetched to me as “D&D causes satanism.” I’m sure there’s some scientifically rigorous way to figure out whether it’s a real problem and there are probably ways to mitigate it if it is.

I take your point on scale, but if LLM use actually can be harmful for people prone to mental health problems, even if it’s a small number of people, isn’t that a fair point? (Of course the jury’s out on whether that’s actually so.)
