To me it's a sign of how much union and worker influence more generally has declined that a common job action/labour tactic—"work to rule"—had to be given a whole new name because an entire generation of workers and journalists had no idea what it was or what it was called.
"Quiet quitting" is simply ...doing the job you're paid to do and taking the benefits you're entitled to.
That's it.
