I get that it doesn't SEEM like Houston should have tunnels, but there's a whole ecosystem down there with Starbucks, shops, food courts, & lots of people marching around like hamsters in an elaborate habitrail system. OTOH, I'm sure they probably appreciate the downtown tunnels (esp the a/c!) & the very orderly lines of people waiting for the buses at the end of the workday. Of course, those features make the chaos of the surrounding area even more jarring.
