Happy Halloween 🎃

I made a jack-o'-lantern pattern for the keyboard LEDs on my new Raspberry Pi 500+.

The colors came out all wrong in the picture from my phone, it's actually vibrant orange and purple with green that matches the power button at the other three corners.

It reminded me that I have an antique mirror galvanometer to clean up and get working when I retire in a few years. Needs at least the ground glass scale and a 3V bulb. The old wire insulation probably needs TLC too

Lived in southern New England since 2nd grade in the 60s.
The oak trees change so late now compared to the others we rarely get the magnificent displays of my youth:-(
But we still always get some decent views even after rain takes down the early changers

Map of the two districts sized to match the party affiliation map. Given desire, maybe requirement, for whole towns in each district, this may be one of least gerrymandered states

Based on this visual comparison and knowing they want to have whole towns within the two districts, I suspect this may be one of the least gerrymandered states.

Perhaps the GOP keeps fielding bad candidates in district 2.

Areas of southern New England that have a lot of MAGA folks. The one protest near where I live in SNE MAGAville has the location hidden until you RSVP to prevent retaliation.

It's so bad around here that I get dirty looks if I mask up for health safety because I don't look ancient or sick :-(

Spotted this place on my visit to Philly a couple weeks ago, didn't have time to check it out and suggest some great art for the walls

Can it really be one of the best regional hospitals if we get death and safety lapses?

Nah, it's just that all US News & World Reports ranking articles are worthless crap

There are enough hills there to get some good cardio

Afterwards I went over to Grills Preserve for more river views and saw a pair of Northern Black Racers, it's mating season /2

Most of the trees were just getting leaves making it 28C/82F in the sun. All day we encountered nice views of the few Flowering Dogwoods in the area. After a picnic lunch at the Dry Reservoir hiking shelter we climbed up Mt. Misery through the flowering Pitch Pine arches, a great day for a hike
