Thanks Elizabeth May, and also Lori and Gord for putting corporate greed ahead of working class people.
They know that the Canadian people who really matter are people with fancy stock portfolios and wealth managers, not losers who work and pay taxes and struggle to afford groceries. #Soldout
Budget passes 170-168

Green Leader Elizabeth May votes in favour.

Unofficial vote tally shows five abstentions, two NDP MP’s, one Liberal MP and two Conservative MP’s. #cdnpoli

I've been rewatching Full Metal Alchemist, and today started reading Katabasis.
Turns out the stories of Alice Law and Edward Elric have the exact same starting point!
Not complaining. FMA is the best, and I'm loving the magick and the whole vibe of the book so far!

When half of CBCs World News update was about Charlie Kirk, my first thought was "That's a lot of sympathy for 1 dead fascist homophobic white supremacist. I wonder how many innocent Palestinian refugees died that day?" That wasn't mentioned though.

For the record, the answer is 72.

What if Charlie Kirk's assassin was a time traveler who is trying to save America from turning into a full blown dystopian Hunger Games country?
Like you know how people ask if you'd go back in time to kill baby Hitler? What if that's what this guy did?

Where's the Live Aid concert for Famine Relief in Palestine?

Someone like Taylor Swift could single-handedly put an end to this unimaginable suffering by gathering her celebrity friends and putting on a fundraising concert.

But our celebrities are vanilla cowards.

Ray Nayler has become one of my favourite authors lately. I'm reading his latest novel, Where the Axe is Buried, and his writing is so addictive!
Congrats to him and all the other winners from last night!

How to dodge labour rights in Canada:
-Ignore reasonable demands for decent wages & conditions
-Lock out workers on strike deadline day
-Blame workers for inconveniencing Cdns and endangering economy
-Ask Feds to step in

Air Canada just repeated what happened to dock workers & rail workers in 2024

Stopped watching #Untamed mid-season. Such lazy tropey writing and overworn "twists" makes it feel like it's mostly written by AI.

What's wrong with our media landscape that The Residence gets cancelled while Untamed gets immediately greenlit for a 2nd season?

Brilliant writing, brilliant world. Epic fantasy style with an SF twist. "Show don't tell" writing at its best. I often felt lost but didn't mind.
Lady characters were objectified and their relations with the protagonist were cringy which ruined the vibe a bit. 3⭐

Advice needed from #sci-fi #sff #booksky :
I want my next read to be Ray Nayler because his first novel was a favourite of mine.
Should I read Tusks of Extinction or Where the Axe is Buried?

(Or if there are similar fast-paced, short near-future stories you like, feel free to add a recommendation)

WHAT DO I PACK??? #Booksky
I have a 2-wk vaca starting this weekend, and I've narrowed my vacation reading down to six books.
Almost finished One Day, and Last Man is def coming bc GNs are great on a plane. Then I figure I can either read a short book and shorts or dive into a really big read.
HELP!
