Superb visit to the Farnes as always.

Arctic terns are always the highlight on Inner Farne but the sheer variety of seabirds is so special.

Even managed to catch up with the now famous Maleider (mallard x eider hybrid) in Seahouses Harbour 🤣

I love this one as you can see some cool behaviour.
The female removes the hatched eggshell and takes it away from the nest to distract potential predators

We use remote cameras for many different uses across the reserve with nest monitoring one of the key ones in the spring.

This brood of lapwings hatched out yesterday morning, the first of the season 🐣
